Wow! What a first comp for 2021 for the club!
Saturday saw a huge crew of surfers and spectators turnout at Northern for our Mystery Teams Event with the drizzle doing nothing to dampen the stoke!
There were 12 teams competing in total for the event with the U9’s and U12’s rounding it all out.
We enjoyed some solid 3 to 4 foot glassy conditions all day with some incredible surfing going down all round!
In the U9’s Max Evans took home 1st place, Josh Leeman was 2nd, with Tonaya Brown 3rd and Jessie O’Toole 4th.
For the U12’s super grom Harlem Stone grabbed 1st, Noah Bartlett 2nd, with Tom O’Toole 3rd and Nate Goodwin 4th.
In the teams event final it was the Fab Four of El Presidente Luke Bartlett, Ryan Williams, Jayden Hill and Josh Bergsma who got the gong over the Awesome Foursome of Kurtis Herman, Greg Hamer, Zane Clifford and Kale George.
Wave of the day went to Greig O’Toole with the best wipeout going to Mitch Lees who ate sand even before hitting the water!
We held our presentation at Anna Bay Tavern with the wider Port Stephens surf community afterwards.
It was an epic social night out as the music rocked and the refreshments rolled!
Our first big raffle went off for 2021 with a custom board donated by The Boardstore Lab going to Matt McGarry!
